Akemi Satou (佐藤朱美, born February 25, 1972) is a Japanese singer best known for her songs recorded for the anime series Fushigi Yuugi. Indeed, her debut single in 1995 was the opening theme for the series. She sang the main themes for the TV and OAV series and several insert songs, causing her voice to be synonymous with the series. Of her five singles released between 1995 and 1997, three of them were for Fushigi Yuugi. Not to be confused with the active anime seiyuu (voice actress) of the same name that works for Aoni Production.
